I ask for a moment’s indulgence to sit by thy side. The works that I have in hand I will finish afterwards.
Away from the sight of thy face my heart knows no rest nor respite, and my work becomes an endless toil in a shoreless sea of toil.
To-day the summer has come at my window with its sighs and murmurs, and the bees are plying their minstrelsy at the court of the flowering grove.
Now it is time to sit quiet, face to face with thee, and to sing dedication of life in this silent and overflowing leisure.


容許我短暫放縱自己, 坐在你身旁。手頭的工作我晚一點會完成。
看不見你的臉, 我心不得安寧休息, 我的工作成為無涯的苦海,無止境的苦役。
今天夏日已蒞臨, 在我的窗戶呢喃細語, 而蜜蜂也在庭院花圃極盡吟唱之歡愉。
是時候和你相對靜坐 ,在這洋溢著寧謐的閒暇, 唱出生命的頌讚。

[倚馬]

這組詩由198首詩組成。中文題目是 "獻給神的讚歌"。作者泰戈爾絲毫不賣弄技巧, 字字皆是否滌盪心靈的梵音。1913年獲諾貝爾文學獎。本人希望有高明翻譯人指點錯漏, 如第一篇不用你開頭,要怎樣開頭呢?以後"你"字常現,因為那是對神的讚歌。不能每次都用倒裝句之類啊。倚馬謹問候各位文安。

我也很想幫，可是我大概沒法子比你翻得好。

我只是知道，不論中文或英文或其他語文，詩的節奏感非常重要，不能只是單調地翻出字句，還要翻出語義，還要顧到朗頌的節奏感…
譯詩，比譯散文或小說，來得困難多了。
